Disability Residential Care by State

ICF/DDs provide long-term residential care for individuals with developmental disabilities who require active treatment and supervision. Habilitative facilities (ICF/DD-H) focus on life skills and rehabilitation; Nursing facilities (ICF/DD-N) provide skilled nursing for medically complex residents. Most are funded by Medicaid HCBS waivers; family caregivers should call their Regional Center (in CA) or state Developmental Disabilities agency for placement.
