Terms of service
Plain-English: the directory is free, provided as-is, and you should verify resource details by calling ahead before relying on them.
The service
Feed America (EIN 92-1761881) operates feedam.org, a free directory of food-assistance resources. We aggregate data from federal sources, state agencies, nonprofit partners, and community contributions.
No warranty on data accuracy
Hours, services, eligibility, and contact info change. We do everything possible to keep records fresh (180-day verification cycle, crowd reports, operator overrides) but cannot guarantee accuracy. Always call ahead before visiting a pantry, clinic, or office. If a record is wrong, tap "Report incorrect info" on the resource page so we can review.
Permitted use
Use the directory to find food assistance for yourself, family, or others you're helping. The data is licensed under Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0 — you may republish with attribution, including for commercial purposes (with the share-alike requirement).
Prohibited use
- Scraping or repeatedly querying our search endpoints faster than 600 req/min/IP (we have rate limits + abuse detection)
- Submitting false resource entries to harm a competitor or specific organization
- Reselling our directory data without attribution
Liability
Feed America is not responsible for the practices, policies, or services of any organization listed in the directory. We are not a party to any transaction between users and listed resources.
Donations
Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by IRC §170. Refunds available within 30 days for incorrectly processed gifts; contact donations@feedam.org.
Governing law
Texas state law. Disputes resolved in Harris County, TX courts.
