Accessibility statement
Feed America commits to WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across the search platform and SSR pages. This is a living document — we welcome feedback.
What we do
- Keyboard navigation — every interactive element reachable via Tab, with visible focus rings (round-25 audit)
- Screen reader labels — semantic HTML, aria-label on icon buttons, aria-current on active nav, aria-live on search results
- Color contrast — minimum 4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and UI elements (verified via Lighthouse + manual color picker)
- Touch targets — minimum 44px × 44px on mobile per WCAG 2.5.5
- Reduced motion — animations disabled when user has
prefers-reduced-motion: reduceset - Print stylesheets — every resource page prints cleanly without nav/footer chrome (round-30 work)
Known issues
- The interactive map embed (when present) requires fine motor control — use keyboard equivalent in resource list
- Some embedded YouTube videos lack captions; we use them as supplementary content only
