For households over 8: add $830/month per additional member. Limits update each January per HHS Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Auto-eligible (no income test): If anyone in your household receives SNAP, Medicaid, or TANF — you automatically qualify for Alaska WIC regardless of income. Apply directly without verifying income.

Who qualifies for Alaska WIC

Pregnant women — through pregnancy + 6 weeks postpartum (or 1 year if breastfeeding)
Postpartum women — up to 6 months (non-breastfeeding)

Children 1-5 — fruits, vegetables, milk, eggs, beans, whole grains, peanut butter, yogurt

What if I'm slightly over the income limit?

Alaska WIC uses 185% FPL strict — higher than SNAP. If you're over the income limit, also check Medicaid eligibility (often 200% FPL) — Medicaid recipients are auto-eligible for WIC.

Can I get formula through Alaska WIC?

Yes. Alaska WIC is the largest source of free baby formula in the US. Specific approved formula brands per state (mostly Similac and Enfamil). For special-needs/hypoallergenic formulas, doctor's prescription required.

How fast is the application?
