Louisiana EBT balance check

Your Louisiana Purchase Card balance, three ways — fastest first. You do not need an account or an app for the first one.

Call the number on the back of your card

The 24-hour Louisiana Purchase Card line. It reads out your balance and your last transactions, and it is free.

Check online

See your balance, your deposit date and your transaction history, or use the official LifeInCheck EBT app.

Open the Louisiana portal

Look at your last receipt

Most stores that accept SNAP print your remaining balance at the bottom of the receipt. No phone or internet needed.

Lock your card between shopping trips. Out-of-state use blocked by default; short-term opt-out at lifeincheckebt.com Card skimming is the most common way benefits are stolen, and since December 2024 the federal government no longer replaces stolen SNAP benefits in most cases.

If your card is lost, stolen or damaged

Cancel the card first, then request a replacement in the LifeInCheck app, at LifeInCheckEBT.com, or by calling 888-997-1117. Benefits cannot be used until the new card arrives and a PIN is set.

Questions about your case rather than your card — applications, recertification, reporting a change — go to Louisiana DCFS on 1-888-524-3578. That line keeps business hours.

When your next deposit lands

Louisiana loads benefits on the 5th through the 23rd, by SSN digit — except households with an elderly or disabled member, who are paid the 1st through the 4th, based on the last digit of the head of household's Social Security number. A balance lower than you expected usually means your day has not come round yet. See the Louisiana deposit schedule.

Checking your balance is always free. Any site or app charging a fee for it is not your state agency. State agencies never call or text asking for your card number or PIN — if someone does, it is a scam.
