Apply for SNAP in Illinois

Step 1: Gather documents

• Photo ID
• Proof of Illinois residence (lease, utility bill, or DMV record)
• Social Security cards or numbers for everyone in the household
• Last 30 days of pay stubs
• Bank statements + any rental/utility/childcare costs

Step 3: Interview + decision

Illinois ABE schedules a 30-minute interview within 30 days of application. Expedited applicants (income near zero) get a 7-day decision. If approved, your EBT card arrives in 7-10 days.
