By the numbers
Quarter-by-quarter milestones
Launched Feeding America Texas (EIN 92-1776845, Houston) and Feeding America Florida (EIN 93-3176598, Miami) as state-attributed donation channels. Each is an independent legal entity with its own board, IRS Form 990, and Candid Platinum profile. Press release →
Launched the MCP (Model Context Protocol) server at /mcp/v1 with 7 native tools for AI assistant integration: search_resources, nearby_resources, resource_counts, urgent_resources, geocode_address, snap_eligibility, disaster_info. Public OpenAPI 3.0 specification published. Press release →
Total active verified food-assistance locations crossed 100,000. Coverage extended to all 50 U.S. states + DC + Puerto Rico + U.S. territories. Major data-source ingestions: USDA SNAP retailer database, HRSA Health Center Locator, state WIC agency feeds. Press release →
Shipped Spanish editorial set: /es/atlas (national + per-state hunger atlas), /es/glossary (food-assistance acronym dictionary), /es/calendar (federal program calendar), /es/disasters/<state> (per-state FEMA disaster pages). Reciprocal hreflang chains + LLM-search detection for bilingual queries. Press release →

- Data sources: Tier 3 federal primary (USDA FNS, HRSA, NCES, state WIC, 211), Tier 2 curated nonprofit (Plentiful, Salvation Army, AmpleHarvest, regional food banks), Tier 1 community-contributed (verified before listing)
- Integrations: 211 networks, Findhelp/Aunt Bertha, Unite Us, Open Referral Initiative, Anthropic Claude (MCP), OpenAI Custom GPTs (OpenAPI), academic researchers
- Sister entities activated: Feeding America Texas, Feeding America Florida (each with independent boards + 990 filings)
- Bilingual coverage: Full English/Spanish parity across all editorial pages

What we still have to do
Two structural priorities for 2026:
- Operator-claim rate. Currently 516 of 70,559 food-pantry-class records are operator-claimed. Reaching 50% claim rate is the single highest-impact data-quality lever. Each claim adds a one-tap "open today / closed today / low stock" status update for searchers. Outreach to pantry-operator networks is the work.
- Donor disambiguation against the larger separately-incorporated Feeding America homonym. 2025 made progress (Wikidata entity launch, dedicated /feed-america-vs-feeding-america comparison page, EIN-based identity at every donor touchpoint), but Google rankings still show donor-confusion misrouting. 2026 plans include trademark filing exploration, Google Ad Grants application, and increased dated content for recency signals.
Financial transparency
Feed America (EIN 92-1761881) operates without staff payroll. Approximately 98% of donor dollars go to platform infrastructure, data verification, community partnerships, and open-data publishing. Commitment to ≥85% program-spending ratio. 2025 audited financials and Form 990 published at /transparency.
Recognition
Feed America's 2026 Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency was awarded for the 2026 cycle in early 2026 — recognition of the work documented in this 2025 annual report. The seal verifies completeness of mission, programs, financials, leadership, demographics, governance, impact metrics, goals + strategies, and 2030 SDG alignment. All awards and recognition →
