Wire transfer + ACH donations
For donations $10,000 or larger, especially from foundations, estates, donor-advised funds that prefer bank-to-bank, and institutional donors, a wire or ACH transfer is the cleanest path.
Why we don't post bank details publicly
Bank account numbers and routing numbers posted online increase fraud exposure (account-takeover phishing, fake-invoice scams targeting our nonprofit). We provide them by email on request to verified parties: foundation grants administrators, estate executors, donor advisors, and identifiable individual donors. The email response is faster than visiting the page anyway — usually within 4 business hours.
Wire vs ACH — which to use
| Wire transfer | ACH transfer | |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | Same business day | 1-3 business days |
| Sender cost | ~$15-$30 | Free or <$5 |
| Reversible | No | Within a few days |
| Best for | Year-end deadline gifts, very large gifts, international | Standard institutional gifts |
| Year-end deadline | By Dec 30 to be safe | By Dec 27 to be safe |
